What to expect

Each non-diet nutrition therapy starts with an Initial Nutrition Assessment — a 1-1.5 hour deep-dive video call where I ask you questions like:

  • How do you feel about your current eating behaviors?
  • What messages about body image did you receive during your upbringing?
  • Do you experience any guilt or shame related to eating certain foods?
  • What is your history with eating and dieting?
  • Do you tend to eat differently when alone compared to when with others?
  • How much time do you spend thinking about food and your body?
  • If you could wave a magic wand and change something about how you eat, what would it be?

Hi, I’m Marissa. I have worked as a registered dietitian since 2010 and have helped countless teens and adults break free from diet culture’s toxic grip.

My approach? It’s about tuning into your body’s needs and fostering a positive, stress-free relationship with food. In our sessions, you can expect a client-centered, compassionate, evidenced-based approach tailored to your unique challenges and goals.

You can book a virtual appointment for nutrition counseling at your convenience.  Meetings are conducted via video visits from your computer or mobile device, so that you can enjoy the comfort and time savings of being in your home. For first time clients, you will need to provide some information prior to the visit. View pricing and session options below.

SCHEDULE A CONNECTION CALL

For those desiring further information, you are welcome to schedule a 20-minute discovery call. Upon booking you will be prompted to complete an inquiry form. During this call, I answer any questions and provide more detail regarding my counseling sessions. There is no obligation and scheduling is simple.  

After booking a nutrition counseling session, you will receive my step-by-step onboarding guide, which will prompt you to complete any pending items prior to meeting.

Pricing & Using Insurance

All sessions are virtual, for a snapshot, visit the fees page.

Insurance

REVV Health is in-network with all Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) Payers.

For those with other insurance, we provide a superbill for out-of-network (OON) reimbursement.  You can verify your benefits for FREE!

Please note: it is your responsibility to call your insurance regarding coverage.

We have a handy cheat sheet for questions to ask your insurance company.

While calling your insurance is NOT required to start nutrition counseling sessions, it is your responsibility to know what is and is not covered.

Payment

For BCBS insurance holders, I retain a card for visit bookings but will not charge unless services are not covered. Before any charge, I always reach out to discuss with you.

For everyone else: full payment or a custom payment plan is required before scheduling. I’ll submit a superbill to your insurance after both the session and payments are completed.

When booking, Practice Better requests secure online payment via Square, accepting credit cards and FSA/HSA cards. I can also accept a bank transfer or checks payable to REVV Health, LLC. Remember, you are responsible for any uncovered charges.

FAQ

Do you accept referrals for Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) by Physicians, Dentists and other practitioners (such as SLP, OT, NP, and therapists)?

Yes! I welcome referrals. Please have your physician, dentist or practitioner complete this MNT Referral Form.

Can I send a message to you anytime?

As a client, you have access to the Practice Better Client Portal on your computer as well as the Better App on your phone. Using either of these options,  you can send me secure messages at any time!  I will respond within 48 business hours to your messages. If you are not a current client please click here to send me a message.

Do you have a cancellation policy?

Yes. If you need to cancel an appointment, please give me 24 hours notice. Appointments canceled within 24 hours of your appointment time will be charged at 50% of the visit to your card on file. No-shows will be charged the full out-of-pocket fee for their appointment.

Do you interpret labs?

Yes – I welcome lab work. You will be able to upload your labs into our secure client portal so that we can store baseline values and work together toward improvements.

What if I’m running late? Or need to reschedule?

No problem! Just let me know by emailing or calling (you will have this information once you are an established client), or chatting through the Better app.  If you are running more than 15 minutes behind, we might need to reschedule the visit. 

If you need to reschedule your appointment and I can find a spot in that same week M-F for which your appointment is scheduled, I am happy to move the session to your desired time at no cost.  Otherwise, please note, my cancellation policy will be applied.
